Not Doing physics
Not doing physics and I've got an empty room with a marked up whiteboard.

There's nothing wrong with knowing someone's going to read your writing. I read my writing.
I've edited my writing after reading my writing and sent it to someone again after I've edited it to make sure they've got the latest version in their head.
I'm not doing physics and I've not spent time with my brother because I was to do physics.
It's incredibly hard to do something when the value proposition is fuzzy. The obvious value proposition of working on software or getting customers is to get software and customers. Why is there no value proposition to doing physics?
My brother would tell me the answer very easily.
