Sonogenetics for Noninvasive BCI

Ion channels between neurons can be influenced by voltage changes (Na+, K+), neurotransmitters (psilocybin?), temperature, force etc. We are most concerned with the subset affected by forces. The idea is to put force sensitive ion channels in neurons which typically don't express them.

Removing the bad stuff inside a virus leaves a convenient trojan horse for recombinant DNA to express a payload. After injecting a host with these bioengineered particles, focused ultrasound will pass by everything except the neurons that have absorbed the virus and these are now controllable for various purposes. Putting aside all the terrible outcomes of having noninvasive and controllable neurons with ultrasound from a distance, it's much more promising for disabled people than physically putting electrodes in motor controlling regions of the brain.

The way I see this moving forward is growing human neural cells in millions of petri dishes and getting an automated wet lab to test hundreds of thousands of pathways and cascades to find ideal combinations. Please email me if you are doing this rochankavulli@gmail.com
